INTRODUCING THE WRITERS' RETREAT...

A podcast about all things writing.

Ingrid and I have spent a lot of time talking about books, writing, reading and storytelling, so when The Outer Sanctum podcast team decided to take a break, it seemed bleedingly obvious that we should take these conversations to the airwaves. (Podwaves? Whatever waves make the magic that delivers words from our lips to your ears.) So that's what we've done with The Writers' Retreat - a space for the sorts of conversations we usually have in private, the good, the bad, and the ugly of this writing life. We share tips, ideas, struggles and challenges. And whatever else we might come up with along the way.

It's new, it's different, and it's all ours. So if you're interested in writers and writing, and have a gap in your listening life, give us a whirl. And if you have thoughts or feedback, we'd love to hear. This is, like all things creative, a work in progress, and we're super keen to hear from our listeners.

We recommend you subscribe to the feed (it's free!) to make sure our fortnightly episodes land in your earholes. It's available at all the usual podcast platforms, but to get you started, here's a link here...

In the meantime, if you're not yet convinced to give us a shot, here's a taste of what's to come...

The Outer Sanctum

The Outer Sanctum Podcast is an unconventional all-female footy podcast that features ten passionate fans – Emma Race, Shelley Ware, Rana Hussain, Lucy Race, Alicia Sometimes, Nicole Hayes, Tess Armstrong, Kate Seear, Julia Chiera and Felicity Race – who focus on stories and voices rarely heard. Their podcast examines diversity and inclusion, together with the absurdities of footy fandom. In their first year on air, The Outer Sanctum sparked a national debate about the treatment of women in football when they discussed derogatory comments made by Triple M commentators, including Collingwood president Eddie McGuire, about award winning journalist Caroline Wilson.

The Outer Sanctum team consists of ten football fans – brought together by their love of the game and their hopes to make it a more inclusive and welcoming space for all.
